| about suzaluna
annette leeds spent almost seven decades as an artisan, producing many works of art using various media such as oil, watercolor, sumei painting and textile design. as her granddaughter, i became inspired by both the breadth and beauty of her work and decided at a very early age that i would become involved in the arts as well.
as a graduate of hartford art school in 1999 with a BFA in printmaking, i began exploring different disciplines to expand my technique and skill. i experimented with stained glass, mosaics, clay, painting, book-making, weaving and photography. eventually, i combined the medium of ceramic with my love of animals, children and our celestial moon.
suzaluna is an artistic business venture which creates and supplies personalized ceramic gifts. each and every item is drawn, fired, painted and glazed by my own hands in my new england studio. this means that every item ordered is as special and unique as the people or furry friends that receive them. because each item is individually made, no two items will be exact in color, and slight variations in the glaze may occur. all pieces will have tiny "stilt markings" on the bottom as a result of being fired in a high temperature kiln. all items are non toxic and dishwasher and microwave safe.
all of my designs are created by me. all images are copyrighted and may not be distributed, modified or reproduced in whole or in part.
please enjoy your gifts from suzaluna and thank you for supporting an independent artist. i truly appreciate it!
